Flooding in the Northwest -- While most of the rainfall has ended across the Pacific Northwest, 7 rivers in western Washington are in flood, with 12 river expected to be in flood within 48 hours as recent heavy rains work into stream and river channels.
Wet, white and windy -- The storm that brought the heavy rainfall to the Northwest is already far inland and will bring snow to parts of the northern Rockies. A winter storm warning is in effect for northwestern Wyoming (Tetons), with with winter weather advisories in effect for parts of Montana, Wyoming, and west central Colorado. High wind watches and warnings are also in place from the northern Rockies into the northern High Plains.
Fire weather -- A large ridge of high pressure will build into the West today and into the weekend. This will result in offshore winds and near-record warmth in parts of Southern California. These conditions, existing dry conditions and low humidity expected will increase the fire threat for the region. Fire weather conditions will become critical late tonight into Friday morning
