Next year I'll be doing the pro junior series full time. It's my last year so I want to give myself the best chance to do as well as I can, and I think the VQS is perfect for testing yourself against the guys I'll be competing against next year.
Having the comp at my home beach is awesome. All my mates can come down and do the contest for free and at the end of the day everyone comes home with tones of free gear. the vibe's a lot more friendly, it's not like a typical surf contest it's more about hanging out at the beach and having fun.
Finalists will qualify for the Australian VQS Championships at Manly Beach on the 3rd and 4th of April 2009 where there will be 4 champs crowned with the Junior - Pro-Am winners will be flown to the Newport Beach, California to represent Australia and battle it out for over US$100,000.00 cash purse at the Totally Crustaceous VQS World Champs!
