Sova, then a defenseman for the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League, was sitting with a few of his teammates from the junior-A squad high in the arena in downtown Omaha.
We were watching
the clock, and we were like, All right, overtime 1, 2 ..., Sova said after Tuesdays Nanooks practice at the Patty Center. We were looking at our watches and saying, Weve got curfew.
Sova, after getting permission from the Lancers head coach, stayed for the rest of the game.

He had the luxury of just coming across the Missouri River from Council Bluffs, Iowa, where the Lancers play their home games, to the Qwest Center to meet with then Nanooks head coach Doc DelCastillo, then assistant coach Dallas Ferguson and Nanooks players before the series.
